On October 16, Slow Food Miami volunteers joined Troop 7 of the Boy Scouts to plant a garden at the historic Merrick House in Coral Gables. The Heritage Garden, designed by Jacqueline Touzet and sponsored by the Coral Gables Garden Club, was planted to commemorate the home’s 100th anniversary. It was designed to be historically accurate, meaning it resembles the garden that George Merrick’s mother would have grown herself.
