PIE ON THE PORCH: CONTEST RULES & APPLICATION

 Pie on the Porch will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 25 at the Merrick House on 907 Coral Way, Coral Gables, Florida. See the invitation.

CONTEST RULES

1. Only the first 15 entries will be entered in the contest. To be considered, application must be complete and submitted, with uploaded recipe as a readable/printable document, by 5PM on September 20, 2010. No incomplete entries will be considered.
2. ANYONE who is not on the Slow Food Miami Board or Event Committee can enter. Chefs and culinarians welcomed!
3. On the day of the event, contestants must bring 1 pie (at least 9 inches) to the event at 12:30 PM and be present in person for the first three (3) hours of the event.
4. All pies must be made with a fruit or main ingredient that grows locally.
5. Pies may be savory or sweet.
6. Use of home, community garden is a plus but not required.
7. Use of local sugars, honeys, meals, is a plus, but not required.
8. No artificial preservatives, binders, or sweeteners are to be used in the making of this pie.
9. HOMEMADE pies only. No purchased pies.
10. Pies will be judged anonymously (judges will not know whose pie they are judging).
11. Contestants must be present to win.
